IEC
Automation Components
IEC stands
for International Electrical Commission, which is a worldwide standard
that every country follows, like the "metric system." Only recently
have the United States and Canada started to convert from a NEMA (National
Electrical Manufacturers' Association) to this IEC standard.
Fox Controls
Inc. saw this as an opportunity to start an organization that would design
and provide components to the engineering marketplace. Initially, we provided
spare parts to imported machinery and equipment.
Over the
last several years, the United States has experienced a rebirth in the
Machine Tool Sector. Most of these manufacturers have learned from their
past experiences that their company cannot effectively compete with two
separate product lines -- one for the United States (NEMA) and one
for the rest of the world (IEC). To do so doubles their engineering, manufacturing,
and support costs. Therefore, it was logical to design new product lines
around the IEC format, which they could then sell anywhere in the world.
Companies
now look to Fox Controls Inc. for our expertise through this transition.
We not only can help these companies with their product re-design, but
we can also provide the components. We then can show them how to install
and implement them, and if need be, provide a complete system.
